Myself, Product of a State-Run School System
Ahhh yes. This is where I was Educated.

On a whim, I googled for my middle school. The school I attended from 1983-1985.
A decade before the Web happened. Of course, they now have a web page with
a "virtual tour." So of course, I poked in to take a look around.

The gem below is a recent creation from that Center of Learning I attended, Aldrich Middle School:

Our assistant Principal [...] is Bilingual. The languages he speaks are English, Spanish, and French.

I just HAD to share that.

Edited Dec 26, 2005 to fix an Element of Style oversight.

Wow!

I have to say, I have immense respect and significant default affinity for anyone both well-versed enough to spot this, and irked enough to leave the comment. A pity you're "Anonymous". One thing is for sure, though. You're either:

  1. Someone I know, or

  2. Someone I don't know

At any rate, I confess, my internal parser has consistently had a bug on this Element of Style for as long as I've been writing. I've corrected the jounral entry now. Hopefully this link to the University of Chicago Press will help act as a useful cribsheet for myself and others in the future:
